Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St. Asaph is receiving a £16m redevelopment that will allow the school to increase its capacity from 1000 to 1250 pupils.
Plans for the school include the development of a new, three-storey, modern building adjacent to fully refurbished existing building.
The existing design and technology block will be demolished as well as a 1950’s general teaching block to create space for a new car park and enhanced bus parking.
The objective of the development is to not only provide the school with more space, but to improve the quality of the learning environment to allow for the deliverance of a modern curriculum. The school is also keen to take this opportunity make significant improvements to the existing building which will reduce the sites carbon footprint.
The new building will be designed to achieve an ‘A’ rated EPC and will achieve Excellent under BREEAM. The existing building will achieve BREEAM Very Good.
