Kier / Department for Education
Collaborating closely with Kier and the Department for Education (DfE), we are excited to embark on the construction of a state-of-the-art facility for St John Vianney RC SEND School in Stretford.
This ambitious project entails the creation of a 4,470m2 new building tailored to accommodate 160 pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), spanning from primary school age to year 13. The facility will boast a comprehensive array of amenities, including primary and secondary SEND classrooms, ICT classrooms, design and food technology workshops, science studios, hair and beauty training salons, and fitness rooms.
Additionally, the design incorporates essential medical treatment rooms, therapy spaces, quiet calming areas, and sensory rooms, ensuring a supportive environment for all students.
Central to the vision of the project is the pursuit of sustainability. We are dedicated to achieving a net-zero carbon footprint for the new school block during core school hours. This goal will be realised through the integration of renewable energy sources, such as extensive photovoltaic panels and efficient air source heat pumps.
