The transformation of the North Manchester General Hospital site has begun with the construction of a new multi-storey car park and cycle hub.
This will free up surface parking spaces so that the new hospital and other facilities can then be built.
Enabling Works
Delivered as a series of work packages including temporary car parking, asbestos removal, demolition, service diversions and clinical
refurbishment works, this major Enabling Works scheme has facilitated the redevelopment of the hospital estate.
MSCP & Cycle Hub
A new four storey, 964-space multi-storey car park (MSCP) and cycle hub, providing car parking for staff and visitors to the hospital. The car park features standard, disabled and wider parking bays, electric vehicle charging bays and accessible and parent/child spaces on the ground floor.
It features 104 internal cycle storage spaces for staff and 38 external bike hoops for visitors. Cycle Hub changing facilities are provided with drying areas, showers and lockers.
On the project, our primary responsibility was to deliver checking role duties, including thorough inspections.
We conducted regular site visits, meticulously examining the M&E installations to ensure they aligned with specifications and met high standards of quality and workmanship.
Additionally, as part of our oversight duties, we facilitated witnessing and demonstrations of all M&E systems to ensure their proper functioning and adherence to requirements.
